Pediatric Aquatic Therapy of the Suncoast

Providing  Aquatic Opportunities for Children with Disabilities
Serving the Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch, and Bradenton Area

Drowning is the number one cause of accidental

death for children with autism.

Empowering your child with the

skills, knowledge and confidence to be safe around

the water is our number one priority. At Pediatric

Aquatic Therapy, we provide water acquisition and

safety skills with an introduction to the aquatic environment

through social stories, visual and

physical prompts, and adapted water activities.

We make learning safe and fun by individually designed activities in a safe and comfortable  aquatic environment.

Benefits include:

  • Increased Water Safety
  • Improved Sensory Regulation Skills
  • Improved Endurance, Muscle Tone, and Balance
  • Increased Ability to Focus and Attend to Task
  • Improved Language and Cognitive Skills
  • Enhanced Social Skills and Self-Confidence

Over half of the homes in Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch have pools right in the backyard.  Many other homes are just a few minutes walk from small ponds that sprinkle through out our community.  Water safety is our first priority.

With over 700 miles of beach fun in our home state, enjoying a safe day at the beach is imperative for family fun.  From splashing around in the shallow pools to swimming to the sandbar together, a day at the beach can be a rewarding family experience.

Pediatric Aquatic Therapy of the Suncoast was a proud recipient of scholarship funds for ASD children.  Children who demonstrated financial need  received swimming instruction .  We had a fun, successful summer in the pool!
