Tina Weger, OTR/L ATRIC is a Licensed Occupational Therapist and Aquatic Therapy & Rehab Certified. She is a certified swim instructor as well as adapted aquatics certified. She is passionate about creating a safe and positive relationship for children with disabilities and water. Swimming, boating, and going to the beach is an everyday, recreational activities for children living in the Suncoast. A child with a disability should not miss out on these social opportunities because of fear of the water or safety concerns. Combining both her 28 years of Occupational Therapy experience and aquatic therapy training, she is able to develop specific plans for each child to maximize the water experience. She has taught a variety of children water safety, water acclimation skills and swim skills in the local area. Children who are were once fearful of the water are now swimming and enjoying the recreational water activities with their families. Children who are drawn to water are now demonstrating water safety skills.
Because each child is unique, at Pediatric Aquatic Therapy, our approach is personal and highly individualized. Your child’s physical, cognitive, and sensory issues are considered to provide the best swim experience. We tailor each aquatic therapy session in accordance with each child’s preferences and abilities.
Sessions will predictably progress through:

- water confidence skills
- breath control in the water
- safely crawling on the pool wall
- methods for entering and exiting the pool, and
